About

Software built around how your business actually works.

Most business software is built to be sold to as many companies as possible, which is why so much of it fits none of them properly. We build the other kind.

Why DianeDigital exists

A restaurant does not need a flexible platform. It needs to know who is coming at eight and which table they are on. A business with two hundred supplier invoices a month does not need a workflow engine. It needs to know what is due on Friday and whether anyone has approved it.

Generic tools answer those questions eventually, after somebody has spent a fortnight describing the business in the tool’s vocabulary. We would rather learn the vocabulary and build the product in it.

That is why DianeDigital is a portfolio rather than a platform: DoraDine for restaurant reservations and table management and DORA for invoices, suppliers and payments. Each one is shaped by the work it serves.

How we work

Our principles

One product, one kind of work

A reservation book and a purchase ledger are different jobs. We build them as different products rather than one system with two half-finished halves, so each one can be shaped by the people who actually do that work.

Your data stays yours

Every customer runs their own application with its own database and its own credentials. Nothing is shared between businesses, and our own platform is not in the path of your daily work.

Built with the businesses using it

Features come from watching real shifts and real month-ends rather than from a list of competitor features. When something breaks on a Friday night, the people who wrote it are the people who answer.

Independent of us

Your application serves guests and processes invoices whether or not our platform is up. That is how it is built, not something we promise to be careful about.

How we build

Features come from watching the work. A booking rule exists because a host explained why the old one cost them a table on a Saturday; an approval step exists because somebody paid an invoice twice.

We ship in small pieces and we keep them. A product that changes underneath a team during service is a product that team stops trusting, so changes arrive deliberately and nothing is redesigned for its own sake.

And we build for the software to outlive us being available. Each customer’s application runs on its own with its own database, so it keeps serving guests and processing documents whether or not our platform is having a good day.

How we work with businesses

Onboarding is a conversation, not a form. We would rather spend an hour understanding how your service runs and then tell you the product does not fit than sell you a subscription you cancel in March.

Support goes to the people who wrote the software. There is no tier one standing between you and an answer.

The products are the argument. Start with whichever one matches the work you are trying to fix.
